Sant’Antonino

Sant’Antonino is five minutes up the road and one of the oldest villages in Corsica. It sits on a granite peak at 500 metres, and it’s car-free, so the only way to see it is to walk it. Narrow stone alleys, low arched doorways, doorsteps that haven’t changed in centuries. Ancient!

After parking at the square at the church you climb to the top because of the view: 360 degrees over the Balagne valley, the olive groves, and the sea beyond. It’s listed as one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France, and once you’ve stood up there you understand why.

Stop at the lemon and orange juice tasting near the top before heading back down. Worth it.
